Flags
DraftWhat velur raises on its own, what you raise, and what happens to both.
What a flag is
A flag is one day that landed far enough from its own pace to be worth reading about. velur raises one the first time a day does not tie out, and you can raise one yourself from any figure's trace.
The 28-day pace
Every comparison and every threshold is a distance from the 28-day pace: the mean of that metric over the 28 complete days before the day in question. A rule needs those 28 stored days. Until they exist, no flag can fire, because there is no baseline to be far from.
There is no model here, and no score. A rule is a comparison someone can redo by hand.
Thresholds
Each metric that can flag has a default distance under pace and over pace, and the two sides are separate: a metric can flag for falling and not for rising, or the other way round. A workspace can tune each side in Settings, Brief, and the defaults apply to anything it has not tuned. Watching starts at half the threshold.
A firing keeps the threshold that fired it, so a flag stays explainable after the workspace changes its mind about where the line sits.
The three states
A flag lands at Received, moves to Tracing while velur follows it back to the source rows, and reaches Found with what was found. A confirmed mistake becomes a permanent automated check that runs before every brief.
DRAFT: which metrics can flag, and their defaults
The table of default thresholds per metric is shown in Settings, Brief in the console. It is not published here yet, because the docs will render it from the same file the product enforces rather than retype it.
