Trace a figure
DraftEvery figure is a door. What is behind it, and how to carry it into a spreadsheet.
Open the figure
Every figure in the brief and in the console is a link. Click it and the trace opens beside the page, without leaving it.
What the trace shows
Top to bottom: the exact value, then the figure's identity as metric_id, its version and the time it was computed, then the formula from the metric's definition, then the inputs that formula reads which exist as stored figures for the same day, each with its source, its dating rule and the sync that fetched it, then the comparisons with their dates, then the provenance line.
Inputs the definition does not expose as separate numbers, discounts for example, appear in the formula text only. Nothing is invented to fill a row.
The trace id
Every trace carries an id, and the id is derived from the figure itself rather than issued to it: tr_<date>_<metric_id>_v<calc_version>. It is stable and copyable. A figure pasted into a spreadsheet walks back to the sync it came from through that string.
Flagging from the trace
If a figure looks wrong, flag it from the trace. The flag lands in Flags at Received, moves to Tracing while velur follows it back to the source rows, and to Found with what was found. A confirmed mistake becomes a permanent automated check, so it cannot recur silently.
