Your first brief

Draft

When the first brief arrives, what it waits for, and what is missing at the start.

A brief covers a complete day

A brief covers the complete day before it, closed at midnight in your store's timezone. velur never reports a day before it has ended, so there is no half-day figure anywhere in the product.

What the brief waits for

Once the local day has ended, velur syncs every connected source, then generates the brief only when every one of those sources covers that day. A source that has not caught up holds the brief and says so. Nothing is estimated to fill the gap.

The brief is in the inbox before the hour you set in Settings, Brief, which is 08:00 in your own local time by default, and it goes to every address on the recipients list.

The first four weeks

Comparisons in the brief are distances from the 28-day pace: the mean of a metric over the 28 complete days before the day you are reading about. Until velur holds 28 stored days, the brief says the comparison is not available rather than guessing, and a flag cannot fire without a baseline to compare against.

DRAFT: backfill

How much history velur loads when you first connect a source, and how long that takes, is not written here yet.
